How to Install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (LMY48B) on Redmi 1S with the MOKEE ROM

Mokee ROM is a magnificent android ROM that is now available for Xiaomi Redmi 1S android Smartphone.

 Users of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S can now upgrade their device operating system to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using Mokee ROM.

This custom ROM comes with lots of build features, bug fixes and customization. One nice thing about this ROM is that it is pre-rooted

 (this means, you don't need to root any device it is installed in again). 

 

And with this custom build ROM, OTA updates would be made available on any Xiaomi Redmi 1S devices.

Today we will briefly talk about how to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (LMY48B) MOKEE ROM on REDMI 1S.

Note: Installation of Custom ROM on any android device voids the warranty covering it, and following this instruction is at owners risk, so this guide is recommended for pros, as any effect caused by a personal mistake in this process could cause a device crash.

You are strongly advised to backup your files before proceeding with the steps below

Installing Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (LMY48B) MOKEE ROM on REDMI 1S

• First, you'll need an already rooted Xiaomi Redmi 1S android to apply the update.

•  Then install TWRP manager from Google PlayStore, and then install the recovery and the TWRP manager application.

• Now you will have to  download the Mokee ROM (Android 5.1.1 Lollipop) and Gapps by Googling “Download Mokee ROM (Android 5.1.1 Lollipop)” and save to the device memory.

•  After downloading and saving the ROM, switch off the Xiaomi Redmi 1S device and boot in recovery mode (this can be done by pressing and holding Volume UP button + pressing the Power button).

•  Once the device is on recovery mode, simply select Wipe Data/ Factory Reset this will effectively delete all files it the device, Wipe Cache Partition and then Wipe Dalvik Cache/ART (cache from advanced section).

•  After the wipe, go to the recover main menu, then choose “install ZIP from SD Card”, then select the Custom Rom Zip file from where it has been saved and install immediately.

• Repeat the above step to also install the Google apps (Gapps)

•  Once the installation process is completed, go back to main recovery menu and tap on the “Reboot system” selection, then your device will reboot.

If all these steps are carefully taken and done without mistakes, then the Redmi 1S device will be running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
